If you're struggling with either the other person on the call hearing you, you hearing them or either of the video links ensure that your settings are set to your desired Skype device.
From the "Skype For Business" menu choose "Preferences" then Audio/Video. Make sure that each of the options are set correctly.
Once in the Skype for business call there are a few buttons that you need to press to enable the other side to see you (and they need to press on their side so you can see them.)
