If the server has Essentials Dashboard
Make sure that there is a group with the same name as the shared resource in the Dashboard.
If you can see it on ADUC, but not on the Dashboard, open ADUC and from there add the group to the following groups:
WseAllowAddInAccess
WseAllowComputerAccess
WseAllowHomePageLinks
WseAllowShareAccess
WseManagedGroups
WseRemoteAccessUsers
WseRemoteWebAccessUsers
Close the Dashboard and reload it.
Add the users to the group.
If the user doesn't exist on the Dashboard or ADUC, open the Dashboard and create the group with the same name as the folder share.
Add the permissions to the folder as the group. NEVER add a user on the folder permissions.
Once the group is created add the users to it.
